Hi everyone, I own a Farfisa Matador-A which unfortunately fell off the stairs with me. I got it almost fixed (a few cosmetic issues, had to glue back some of the wooden parts that broke off, as for the rest there's only a slight hum, other than that it seems to work ok now)but the interval from two keys on the bass side that are next to each other causes me problems. Sometimes it acts as if there was a slight delay, but I think the problem is more a mechanical one. I went ahead and took one of the keys out, not knowing these can't be put back in without taking the whole thing apart..bad move. Does anyone know how to put the key back in properly and how to fix the problem I tried to describe (not sure if I managed well..)?

Hi,
Not sure if you took the contact off with the key, but the contact sounds like your issue. I can't remember how exactly the Matador is set up, but it is one of two ways. A spring touches a metal bar to make the contact, or a piece of metal touches another piece of metal to make the contact. You need to adjust and/or clean the contacts until they make the right sound. I am told that cleaning is best with a product called Deox-it.

Hello. I have just bought a Farfisa matador (1972 I think) off ebay but it is missing the pedal. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase one? I am happy to import as I think they might be hard to source. Failing that, does anyone know if I can use another pedal instead? I have found out that it is an optical pedal but that's about all i know. any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks, matt / Mr Spygenius / devilstypist@hotmail.co.uk
