Hi! I have notice that you are a a specialist in organs, and I would really apprectiate if you could give me an advice.
Please, if you have some time, help me with my organ.
I have a Farfisa, It's wooden, and it has a Leslie speaker built in. Everything seems to work fine, but the sound I'm getting when I play is of very bad quality, it sounds like cracking, like an old radio. The notes a re all right, but it just the sound, especially when you play chords.
I have takes the top and the back of the organ off. I personally think that the problem is in the built in amplifier. I have found one panel, it is rather small, and it looks like some has taken it off before (the bolts were not attached properly). I am not sure whether this is an amplifier or not. But it has a problem. It look some two white little tubes that say on it 0.22 Ohm 3W FIN620 4672 (I asuumes those are resistors) have leaked. There is like dried paste that came out of there and, and some part are oxidized (it's very green).
This panel is located at the very back of the organ, and has two little knobs, that you have to tune with a srewdriver - one of them is horisontal and the other is vertical. For the vertical one there is a hole in the back wall of the organ, where it indicates it as "Volume".
Also this panel has a big aluminium bracket, where it looks like on there bottom of it there are two big transistors.
I am not sure whether this panel is the amplifier or not, and whter the problem is in the amplifier or not.
There is another big panel further in the organ, but it looks very big, and there are lots of thing on it, (this one is located on the left top of he organ from the player's location). May that one be the amplifier, or I found the right one?
Please help me, what do think the problem might be in this case?
And another qeustion. On the back, there is a separate little metal plate with two input jacks. One of them is for the leslie speaker, and the other one is saying "Output into external amplifier or Input into internal amplifier". When I am connecting an amplifier there, the sound is still goin through the organ's amlifier, but if i connect there a microphon, it plays it through the organ's amplifier. It seemes that it works only as an "Input into internal amplifier". How can I make it work as an output?
Thank you, very much!
